Financial Services Office Automation/Network Upgrade

Problem:

A small financial services company, 16 employees, handling major investments for 35 to 50 clients’ capital assets of $350 million. The nature of the business results in a significant amount of correspondence in hard copy and fax between financial institutions and clients. Much time was spent daily locating, filing, faxing and retrieving documents. Customer was already sharing a Novell LAN with another firm.

Solution:

Establish a Windows NT 4.0 LAN, document management, fax server, shared communication port access (pooled modems), email and an SDSL router for Internet Access on the new Network.

Details:

Customer upgraded their shared LAN on a Novell Server to a dedicated LAN on a Windows NT Server. This activity was coordinated with relocating to new company offices. The desktops were upgraded and new versions of their office suite were adopted along with the introduction of document Management, Fax Server shared Comm Ports (SAPS), internet access and email.
